Momentum , a popular Chrome extension that transforms your new tab page into a visually appealing dashboard, has over 3 million active users and annual recurring revenue (ARR) is around $996k, equating to about $83k in monthly recurring revenue (MRR).

We will build the clone of it using Cursor—in just 10 minutes!

Step by step guide to convert idea into app

1: Download and install the latest version of Cursor

Down the latest version of Cursor from here

2: Create a new folder called "MyApp”

Simply create a new empty folder anywhere on your computer.

3: Open the folder in Cursor

Start your Cursor app and open MyApp folder you created in step 2. See screenshot below

4: Open the AI Chat & Composer window

Mac: Hit Command+I (Mac) on your keyboard

PC: or Shift-Control-I

Window like below will appear.

5: Here’s where the magic happens.

Copy and paste below prompt instructions along with the below image into the Composer window.

Prompt Instructions

Create a fully functional Chrome extension for a new tab page with the following features:

Current Time: Display the current time prominently in a large, clean font (e.g., '10:30').
Personal Greeting: Show a personalized greeting based on the time of day, such as “Good morning, [Name].” Assume the name is “Rahil.”
Random Quotes: Display a random quote from a predefined list of 100 Naval Ravikant quotes each time a new tab is opened.
Dynamic Wallpaper: Load a new wallpaper image from https://bingw.jasonzeng.dev/?index=random every time a new tab is opened.
Daily Goals: Include a section below the quote for editable daily goals.
To-Do List: Add a daily to-do list in the bottom-right corner of the page, allowing users to add, check off, and delete tasks.
